TRACK AND FIELD FACILITY REPLACEMENT – OLNEY CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL

The Olney Charter High School is a public high school located in the Olney neighborhood of Philadelphia and part of the School District of Philadelphia.  The school has an adjacent 7 acre lot that houses an existing field house, track, football field, and baseball field.  After the associated grand stand was deemed unsafe for spectators and structurally unsound, the school district decided to demolish the existing grandstand and replace the track and field with modern facilities.

G&A was tasked with all site and geotechnical design work.  The existing cinder track and turf grass field will be replaced with a new 6 lane asphalt track and turf grass field including a new underground stormwater system.  The new multipurpose field will accommodate soccer, football, field hockey, and provide event space for the discus throw and shot put.  The design also includes PADEP NPDES permitting.
