G&A prepared successful DCNR Community Conservation Partnerships Program (C2P2) grant applications for all 3 phase improvements to Miles Park, totaling $669,000.
Phase I, completed in 2019, included ballfield rehabilitation work, ADA access enhancements, green infrastructure improvements, and the addition of trails. Phase 2 involved the rehabilitation of an existing basketball court including the addition of seating/retaining walls, grading and stormwater work to correct drainage issues, color coating and line striping, and addition of pickleball lines, and bleachers. This resolved a number of issues; cracked and degrading blacktop, erosion of an adjacent embankment onto the court, and drainage problems after rain events made the court unplayable. ADA accessible walkways were also part of the scope, which make the courts accessible for play by all.
Phase 3 included the rehabilitation of the existing playground with inclusive, sensory play equipment, replenishment of engineered wood fiber safety surfacing, the addition of a pervious ADA access route to the playground, shade trees, and a solar charging station with benches.
Services provided were grant preparation, grant management, engineering, landscape architecture, and construction observation.
