MAPLE BEACH BRIDGE REPLACEMENT

The new Maple Beach Bridge provides a connection over Otter Creek between the Bristol Borough Public Works building and BCWSA’s wastewater treatment facility. The original bridge, built in 1915, was decommissioned in 2010.  By 2020 Bristol Borough received over $1.9M in funding from various grant programs to rebuild the bridge.  In addition, BCWSA pledged $1M due to the improved access the reconstruction of the bridge would provide to their facilities.  The prestressed bulb-tee beam bridge was designed including a vehicle and pedestrian lane that will link to a future East Coast Greenway Trail.

G&A prepared soil boring data in support of the design of integral abutments and foundations for the bridge, a Phase I Environmental review as part of the THUD grant funding requirements, a structural adequacy review of the bridge design, and construction management and observation.
