Friendship Park Design

Montgomery Township acquired a 15.5 acre park site as part of a development agreement for the adjacent residential neighborhood.  The initial phase of park improvements included site grading and stormwater management facilities, installation of a paved parking lot, a linear paved trail, multi-use field, and baseball field.

Phase II improvements included a new playground with separate equipment suited for 2-5 and 5-12 year olds, safe and accessible poured-in-place rubber surfacing, and several shade structures. The existing parking area was improved by adding lighting and pre-cast concrete fencing.  Two new pickleball courts are finished with an acrylic color coat system for a vibrantly colored, long lasting surface.  Additional paved trails and a new pavilion were also installed.  The Township received a Greenways, Trails, and Recreation Program Grant to assist with funding the additional trails completed within this phase.
