Scott has been a licensed civil engineer since 1999 and a licensed surveyor since 2001 both in the state of Pennsylvania. He has specific experience working in various roles including Project Manager for all types of health care facilities across Eastern Pennsylvania. Some specialties include working around access requirements for emergency vehicles around difficult terrain; compliance with ADA needs and requirements; helipad design and setbacks; and designing around large medical equipment space and safety requirements.
MRI Facility & Parking Lot Expansion — 2003
Served as Project Manager for addition of the MRI Facility to the hospital and expansion of the hospital’s parking lot. Was a key point of contact between the project architect and the owner of the hospital, which was based out of state. Prepared site/civil design plans to incorporate with the building plan set prepared by the project architect.
Building Demolition & Redesign — 2002
Served as Project Manager for the demolition of existing building; closing existing public street; design of new 4-story structure with connection to two existing buildings; creation of 2-story parking structure; rerouting of existing sanitary sewer main around existing hospital complex. Owner of the hospital was based out of state and I was responsible for preparing land development plans to incorporate in the building plan set prepared by the architect. Obtained site design approvals from the local municipality.
MRI Facility Addition — 2007
Served as Project Manager for addition of the MRI Facility, designing the retaining wall and performing site grading. Site grading was tight due to the constraints of getting the MRI equipment into the new building. Owner of the hospital was based out of state and I was responsible for preparing land development plans to incorporate in the building plan set prepared by the architect. Obtained site design approvals from the local municipality.
Building Addition — 2002
Served as Project Manager for addition of 3-story building to the hospital. Worked directly with the architect for the job and coordinated our design plans with the architects building plans. Revisions to the existing parking lot and building entrances needed to be made to improve the overall circulation of vehicles and pedestrians on the site. Maintaining open access during construction while the hospital was still in operation.
Facility Expansion — 2003
Served as Project Manager for expansion of the entrance and the emergency room facilities to the hospital. Owner of the hospital was based out of state and I was responsible for preparing land development plans to incorporate in the building plan set prepared by the architect. Obtained site design approvals from the local municipality.
ER/OR Expansion & New Parking Lot — 2003
Served as Project Manager for expansion of Emergency Room and Operating Room at the hospital and creation of a new parking lot. Successfully worked around existing helipad activity during encroachment of proposed improvements. Coordinated the site plans with the building owner who was based in Tennessee.
Building Addition — 2002
Served as Project Manager for new facility built on existing foundation of previous City of Allentown Maintenance Building; provided site layout of parking lot and building access. Site was contaminated with leaking buried fuel tanks. We coordinated the removal of the tanks as well as the continued monitoring of water table contamination. Also added site drainage improvements to help alleviate existing storm water flooding conditions in the basement of the building.
New Free Standing Office Building — 2006
Served as Project Manager for construction of new medical office building located on Route 309; design included parking lot, PennDOT road improvements, and erosion and sedimentation controls. The office was a free standing medical office run by the St. Luke’s Hospital Network. We obtained municipal and state approvals for the site design plans.
Storm Water/Sewer Upgrades & ADA Ramps — 2007/2008
Served as Project Manager for construction of new sanitary sewer main and storm water collection system; design included realignment and construction of new conveyance piping; also assisted with design of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliant Ramps at hospital entrances. All of these improvements were to correct existing conditions problems at site.
Free Standing Urgent Care Facility — 2003
Served as Project Manager for addition of new urgent care facility, built on Route 903 centrally located on a small sloping site. Designed storm water collection system, parking lot, lighting, PennDOT road improvements, and erosion and sedimentation controls. Also provided construction management service to the hospital during construction period. Coordinated site design plans with project architect and obtained municipal approvals for the land development design plans.
