Secondary Sludge Pump Replacement

As part of Bristol Borough Sewer Authority’s ongoing multi-million dollar capital improvement program, G&A designed the replacement of two secondary sludge pumps at the Borough’s wastewater treatment plant.   The existing sludge pumps were the original pumps installed in the late 1970s or early 1980s, and had reached the end of their useful lifespan. In addition to the pump replacement, surge protection and variable frequency drives were added to improve reliability and efficiency of the pumping system.  These pumps return activated sludge to the headworks for the plant from the secondary clarifiers and are an essential component of the treatment process.
