Perkiomen Creek Middle Interceptor Replacement

The Lower Perkiomen Valley Regional Sewer Authority (LPVRSA) retained G&A to oversee the design, permitting, and construction administration and observation of the 3.2-mile long Perkiomen Creek Middle Interceptor project. The project consisted of the installation of 42”-60” diameter ductile iron sewer pipe for conveyance to the LPVRSA Oaks WWTP required to meet the growing region’s future sewage needs.

G&A obtained various agency approvals that were required due to the construction activities associated with multiple stream crossings, minor wetland area encroachments, and earth disturbance. Construction engineering tasks included monitoring pipe and manhole installation, sediment and erosion control facilities, wastewater bypass pumping operation, restoration of disturbed areas, project meetings and schedule coordination, review of payment applications, and resolution of issues associated with wildlife habitats both for nesting bald eagles and eastern redbelly turtles, flood events, and four major Perkiomen Creek crossings.
