Intersection Improvements Flourtown Road & Colonial Drive

G&A assisted Whitemarsh Township in securing $1.1M in funding, through the PennDOT Multimodal Transportation Fund Program, for the Flourtown Road & Colonial Drive intersection improvements. The funding was part of the Pennsylvania 43 Multimodal Projects awarded to improve safety, mobility, and strengthen local economies. The project includes the installation of a new traffic signal, ADA-compliant curb ramps at the new intersection, and dedicated westbound left-turn lanes. The intention of the project is to improve the safety of the intersection, provide pedestrian connections to existing sidewalks, create a bike lane, and construct a portion of the Cross County Trail.  The trail, when completed, will provide a 17.5 mile path from Bucks County, through Montgomery County, to the Schuylkill River Trail in Conshohocken. The intersection improvements will also increase transportation access to businesses and provide 25 or more construction related jobs for members of the community.
