Transportation

Traffic congestion and accidents, regional growth and roadway construction are some of the largest challenges facing Southeastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware roadways.

Citywide Traffic Signal Retiming Project, City of Philadelphia

As a leader in the planning, funding, design, permitting and construction of roadway infrastructure, the goal of Gilmore & Associates is to enhance the efficiency of transportation systems for our municipalities, utility providers and private development clients.

Our transportation engineers and planning experts have the tools, knowledge, and experience to successfully accomplish small and large transportation projects utilizing best practices and sustainable solutions. From impact studies and signal design to streetscapes and traffic calming, our comprehensive approach allows us to serve multiple industries across our various service offerings.

Gilmore & Associates has proven experience working with the Department of Transportation (DOT) in several states to obtain vital project approvals, and a wide range of experience with technical modeling and analytical tools including Synchro, SimTraffic, TransCAD, Traffix and ArcGIS. In addition, our grant writing experience has resulted in federal and state grant funding awards, providing many of our municipal clients the opportunity to implement transportation related projects.

Gilmore & Associates, Inc. has recently partnered with MioVision Technologies, Inc., a Canadian firm making great strides in computerized data collection. By deploying MioVision’s revolutionary Automated Traffic Data Collection system, G&A has maximized efficiency and productivity while substantially decreasing the cost of Traffic Impact Studies.

The video collection units, which are quickly and easily prepared for recording, automate the traffic counting process. The units can be set up to record intersection counts, pedestrian counts, roundabout counts, average daily traffic counts, and much more. The data collected is easily transferred to the web-based MioVision Traffic Data portal, where it can be stored, analyzed, and audited. A one hour video can be processed and reported on in 15 minutes.

The Automated Traffic Data Collection system records data with 95% accuracy, and more than halves the labor required to complete a manual Traffic Impact Study- freeing up valuable time and manpower for better use elsewhere.
