St. Mary Medical Center Expansion Project

Gilmore & Associates, Inc. provided civil engineering and related services during the planning and development of each phase of the St. Mary Medical Center Master Plan.  Phase 1 consisted of consisted of large scale vertical expansions to the second floor of the hospital, an additional 5,900 square feet for the Emergency Department, and 15,000 s.f. for the 1st floor Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).  Gilmore & Associates, Inc. completed land development plans for the projects within Phase 1.  Also part of Phase 1 was the design and construction of an additional 89 parking spaces near the Emergency Department Entrance.

Phase 2 of the Expansion Plan for SMMC consisted of the construction of a 403 space expansion of the existing parking garage facility located at the rear of the campus.  Also part of Phase 2 is the construction of a second Medical Office Building, a four-story building, which will connect to the hospital on three levels.  Gilmore & Associates, Inc. conducted a subsurface investigation for both the new Medical Office Building (MOB) and the parking deck expansion.  This included a field investigation which consisted of test borings and analysis of the subsurface conditions.  The data was used to generate recommendations regarding the design of foundations, floor slabs, retaining walls, and pavements.   Gilmore & Associates, Inc. also prepared site and civil plans for the 102,000 s.f. Medical Office Building II, along with a “floating” parking deck, and designed a segmental retaining wall along the parking garage access road.  Gilmore & Associates, Inc. also provided site and civil design services for a 7,500 s.f. addition to the Regional Cancer Center.
