The Source Water Protection Program included both wellhead protection and watershed protection. Field testing, GIS, and groundwater modeling contributed to the hydrogeologic study, which was used by the Borough to develop educational programs, wellhead and watershed protection ordinances, contingency planning (emergency response), new source assessment and signs.

Gilmore & Associates, Inc. provided a comprehensive file review, professional survey of existing wells and nearby wells, performance of 8-hour pumping test, performance of fracture trace analysis, new source review for potential well locations, development of a potential contamination source inventory, delineation of wellhead and watershed protection areas, field survey of riparian buffers, preparation of GIS for use by Borough, and preparation of a hydrogeologic report. The remaining portion of the project involved supporting the Borough in developing management tools for source water protection plan and presentation of the source water protection plan to the PADEP and to the public.
